Early 2010 Proctor and Gamble decided to convert the 16ft x 400ft sign to use LED modules. This would drastically improve the efficiency of the sign, cutting the annual running cost for $32,000 to only $5,000. This together with a grant of $56,000 from a Massachusetts gas & electricity utility ensures Proctor and Gamble a full payback in less than 3 years.

If every standard shop front light box in the US and UK was converted to use led modules it would have a huge positive impact on the environment. A Light box sign fitted with fluorescent tubes would have to be changed 6 times to match the life of LED modules, and would use 5 times more power. It really is only a matter of time before we all convert to LED.

Smart Night Light

Hey everyone, I wanted to tell you guys a bit more about the Smart Night Light and how nice it is to have around my apartment. I’ve had them for some time now and I have been very happy with how they’ve been working. They stay lit all night long and they provide a lot of light on the outside of our apartment.

On their website and on the commercial that I saw they say that these are very versatile and great to have around. I believe that it 100% true. However there are some things that I didn’t agree with. They showed that they can be used in places like attics, as indoor night lights and for a light to use while working on the car. I have done lots of car work and I know my way around an engine. However I know from experience that when I’m under a hood working I want a lot of light flooded everywhere so I can see what I’m doing.

The fact that they show that this works while working under a car hood, in my opinion not true. It does work well for outside flood lighting. It’s not as bright as day but it helps a lot to be able to see what’s going on. I don’t think that it beats using a normal flood light for the working on cars.

Also I don’t think it would be a great idea to use in the attic unless it were by an attic window to get charged. I think it would be easier to use a flashlight rather than charge up the Smart Night Light and then go into the attic with it. It does provide enough light to be a good night light though and would work well as a makeshift flash light.

After my apartment got broken into I suggested to my parents that they get more exterior lighting around the house. I told them to take a look at the Smart Night Lights and see if they would work for them. After they looked at the website and as well other Smart Night Light customer reviews they decided there wasn’t anything easier and better to use for outside lighting.

The three LED lights that are used are very bright and use almost no energy. That is why the Smart Night Lights can stay light all night long because of the low power usage. As well even on a cloudy day they get fully charged because of the UV rays that come through the clouds.

My parents got 4 lights and since it’s a buy one get one free offer they actually got 8. They had plenty of lighting in front porch area as well their walkway. They placed two lights on every corner of the house just like we did.

My dad mentioned to me that it was really easy to install on their brick walls and that they light up the back yard enough to see what’s going on. He likes the fact that he doesn’t have to run lights all night long just to light up their yard.

These are a great product and I highly recommend them for apartments or houses. They light up really well and as well they go all night long.

A beam angle is a measurement, in degrees, that refers to the width at which light emanates from a bulb. Most light bulbs rely on a series of reflective mirrors that are designed to control the direction and spread of light. Because of the many types and styles of bulb available, these angles can vary considerably, but you will find that most retailers prefer, for the sake of simplicity, divide their products into two main categories; “spots” and “floods.”

Spots refer to light bulbs that have narrow angles. They create a circle of light, also known as a hotspot, with a small diameter, which remains very bright over long distances. Their wide angle also means they can be spaced further apart, thereby reducing the number of bulbs required to light a room.

According to ElectroniCast, the consumption value of LED lamps, which are used in stationary (non-vehicle) lighting, reached $37.95 million in 2010; consumption value is forecast to increase at an average annual growth rate of 59.4 percent to $390.53 million in 2015. The consumption value will increase with extremely strong rising quantity growth partially offset by declining average prices.

China’s LED Lighting Market Will Develop Rapidly in Next few Years

Led lighting is a major Led application market. Currently, landscape Lighting and led lights are two application fields that are developing very fast. Led light bulbs will one day become the dominant source of lighting on the planet—if not the exclusive source. Led light bulbs offer every color in the rainbow now to both home and commercial users. A led’s color directly results from the chemical composition of the diode itself. The most recent breakthrough came a few short years ago, when Chinese scientists learned to mix blue and yellow in the precise combination necessary to create a white LED. Previous to this advancement, led light bulbs always represented a primary color, and as such were very useful for display, indicator, and instrument lighting, but not yet ready to replace incandescents whose bright white light established them long ago as the world’s primary source of artificial lighting. When white led bulbs entered the lighting market, an explosion in size, design, modification, and engineering followed as companies like Phantom saw the immediate benefit of creating alternatives to previous technologies and seizing the opportunity of the moment to pass on both green technology and cost-conscious savings to corporate and individual clients.
