When lighting a bathroom the first and most important focus should be on the vanity lighting. Ideally a vertical fixture should be hung on either side of the mirror. This allows for light to be evenly distributed across ones face. The fixtures should be mounted approximately 5.5’ above the floor (eye level), and 36-40” apart. This helps to eliminate shadows under the eyes and chin.
In situations where installing fixtures on either side of the mirror is not possible due to size and installation constraints the next best option is a light hung directly over the vanity. It should be hung 75-80” above the floor. In larger bathrooms the horizontal fixtures can be used in conjuncture with the vertical lights to give additional overall illumination to the space. A bare minimum of 150 watts of light should be used in lighting the vanity it is always safer to error on the side of too much wattage. In cases where the home owner finds that there is too much light either lower wattage bulbs can be used or a dimmer installed. It is always easier to reduce the wattage of a fixture once it’s installed that to figure out how to increase the amount of light if the fixture installed is inadequate.
For additional bathroom lighting, lighting in the shower and over the bath tub, recessed is the ideal option. For the shower and tub make sure a wet rated model is selected. The only place recessed is not ideal is over the vanity, It has a tendency to cast shadows onto the face making personal grooming tasks such as shaving an make up application to be more difficult.
Some clients prefer a little more glamour over the tub and may request a hanging fixture such as a crystal chandelier, or pendant light. Make sure any hanging fixture you choose is UL approved for a wet rating otherwise for safety and code reasons should not be used in that application.

Given the need nationwide for more energy efficient and cost effective street lighting systems it is no surprise that we are now seeing the emergence of new technologies in LED lighting systems popping up on our streets. They promise to offer lower power consumption and can easily be powered through solar or wind energy generation systems and as a result the operational costs associated with their use are relatively low. This is one thing city administrators and managers are very interested in seeing given many cities budgetary short falls. However, these systems are only as good as their weakest link and in this case it is the LED’s themselves that make these systems second rate.

Nearly all LED bulb assemblies used in the US today have been in one respect or another manufactured in China which to date has proven through a multitude of quality issues on various products that these are no better. This technology has been plagued with quality issues ranging from poor power board quality failure rates as well as only being capable of producing suitable light for a maximum of 50,000 hours. Their use in traffic signal lights has resulted in failures in operational control of traffic at intersections in snow prone areas of the US due to lack of heat to prevent snow buildup in their fixtures. The standard work around for this problem was to install resistance based heating circuits to keep the fixtures above freezing temperatures in order to melt away any snow that might otherwise blind the fixtures lighting from oncoming drivers.

Considering these most basic problems it becomes easy to see why these systems should most certainly not be used in mission critical applications. The short term energy savings are giving way to frequent replacement costs and warranty issues which ultimately will be the death of these systems which would be far better used for minor outdoor property lighting of homes or lots. At least in this case their failure would not likely cause or contribute to any traffic accidents that could potentially cost someone their very life. There is new lighting technology which is certain to rise above that of the LED and offers far greater energy savings as well as greatly extended operational and warranty life. Induction lighting systems which are manufactured right here in the good old US of A have come to the forefront in every aspect and they have done so without any of the severe quality issues suffered by that of the LED.

China is the world LED lighting market with great potential in the country, is the world’s largest producer of electrical lighting, a major exporter of lighting. Lighting is the main producing provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and Hubei. China LED (Light Emitting Diode) industry for over 30 years of development milestones, the domestic LED is currently used in landscape lighting, displays, traffic lights, car lights, background lighting, special task lighting and military applications and other applications, enterprises across the country are now nearly thousands, employing 3 million people in 2002 up to sixteen billion annual output value of ten billion yuan. China’s semiconductor lighting market has three major areas: indoor lighting, city lighting engineering, traffic signal system. According to the National Bureau of Statistics figures show that China indoor lighting market growth of semiconductor growth rate of 15% per year, Philips (Philips) Company of China Group, by 2007, its turnover of China from the current 500 million U.S. dollars will increase to 12 billion U.S. dollars. China’s semiconductor lighting can be seen in a very great prospects for development, if the LED technology in the next ten years to mature, to reach the level of the incandescent lamp replacement, its market prospects unlimited.

Residential lighting markets in Beijing the capacity of: Beijing more than 200 million yuan per year residential lighting needs. From the Beijing Urban Construction Committee of the CPPCC Beijing housing market developments on the research to get the Beijing 1200 annual housing demand in square meters. Beijing urban residents by meeting the basic needs of low-limit standard calculation, each of about 900 million square meters of housing; ahead by a certain amount of calculation, each of Beijing urban residents about 12 million square meters of new housing. The results are from Beijing Municipal Land Resources Bureau and the Housing Authority, press the “fifth” of Beijing’s GDP during the average growth of 9% of the cases, the growth rate of per capita housing area is measured. If each household calculated according to a set of 70 square meters per year to stay housing should be added about 17 million. Each set of required electrical lighting fitting into the average calculated at 1,200 yuan, the Beijing should have been 2 billion per year for residential lighting needs. And across the country, with major cities like Beijing market capacity, Shenyang, Tianjin, Xi’an, Chengdu, Kunming, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Changsha and other nine. Conservative estimates, the current needs of the market size of each room lighting up to 40 billion. If the growth rate of 15% calculated to 2010, China’s lighting market capacity will reach 8.1 billion. Expected to LED technology market in 2010 will reach 25% replacement rate, the indoor lighting market capacity will reach 2.025 billion yuan this.

Because LED light source has a low voltage, high efficiency, no pollution advantages: LED using low voltage power supply, power supply voltage between 6-24V, according to the products vary, so it is more secure than the use of high voltage power supply, in particular, apply to public places; efficient: consumes energy than incandescent light effects with a decrease of 80%; of environmental pollution: no harmful metal mercury. Color index is high: you can change the current color, light-emitting diodes by chemical modification methods to easily adjust the material’s band structure and band gap, to achieve multi-color light orange red Huanglv Lan. Such as the small current when the red LED, as the current increases, you can turn to orange, yellow, and finally to green. But the characteristics of high prices, it is widely used in the hotel industry. Because the hotel industry as the price better than the domestic price-sensitive lighting.

It’s said that the LED light price can drop by 15-20% each year, which strengthens competition in the market. In order to get more market, vendors reduce prices of LED products. As a result, the price will reach one-third of current prices by 2015.

A price war has happened in Japan since 2009. LED lighting sales occupied more than 20% of Japan’s lighting market by volume and 50-60% by sales value in 2010. And average price fell from 5,500 yen (US$67) to under 2,000 yen. LED light bulbs’ market penetration is expected to achieve 30-40% in 2011.

Sources from LED companies demonstrated that the price competition has expanded to China, Europe and the US. Average price of LED lighting bulbs has fallen substantially to the current US$20-23, nevertheless, it is still high relative to the US$4-5 of conventional energy-saving light bulbs.

It is reported that some lighting manufacturers will bring in LED products at end-use price of US$10 in 2011. Combined with distributors and retailers well-known for competitive price arranged to enter the LED sector, the price battle will only intensify in the future.

Conventional lighting giants Osram and Philips strive to break into the end-use market in LED light bulbs. In 2010, Philips used Asia markets such as South Korea, India and Singapore to test market reception. Meanwhile, Philips is reported to enter Taiwan’s light bulb market in the first half of 2011.

Philips Taiwan stated that LED lighting will make the lighting industry change, which should attract many more new customers. Currently, with the development of market, elimination and price competition will be fierce, particularly in the low-barrier retrofit segment. In addition, the long lifespan of LED lighting will limit the lighting source market. Philips said that the luminaire segment will create production value five times that of conventional lighting applications. The luminaire applications will account for 80% of the overall LED lighting market in the future.

LED light bulbs are the greatest thing to ever happen in the world, lighting history since the introduction of the first glowing bulbs at the turn of last century. Some underdeveloped countries like to think that we’re always a bit behind and although this may be true of democracy, new Hollywood movies or fast food, when it comes down to lighting with LEDs we’re pretty much on balance.

LED light bulbs were originally used as a replacement for incandescent indicators and displays in laboratory equipment and eventually in TV’s, watches, radios and calculators. LED prices have only recently dropped enough to make them viable for residential and commercial markets. LED home lighting can include anything from outdoor to Christmas lights. LED Lights convert 70% – 90% of the electricity used into Light unlike incandescent which produces more heat than light. LED’s also last for more than 50,000 hours, substantially longer than both incandescent and CFL. With the LED light bulb there is no replacement cost to speak of as they can last 100,000 hours! To put this into perspective, that’s as much as 100 times longer than any incandescent that usually doesn’t see 1000 hours of operation.

Used continuously they will last nearly 6 years. Most LED fixtures will never have to be replaced. LED lighting is safe, environmentally friendly and contains no toxic mercury. LED lights use 90% less energy than conventional incandescent bulbs and less than half the energy of compact fluorescent lamps. Consuming less energy results in fewer green house gas emissions being released into our environment. LED’s are designed to last for 50,000 hours more resulting in less resources being used as there is no longer the need to replace used bulbs that gets thrown into the dustbin.

Neon lighting is comparable to incandescent lighting in terms of power consumption and luminescent output whilst LED lighting is more power saving than fluorescent lighting, requiring in some cases only one-tenth the wattage for a similar light output to an equivalent neon sign.

Up to 30 percent of the United States energy budget is consumed by lighting, most of which is still being consumed by older, less efficient lighting. The use of newer technologies, such as LED lighting, can create brighter light sources with far less consumption of energy. In addition to superior efficiency, both of these new types of bulbs have much longer life spans than neon equivalents, reducing waste and the need for landfill space when they are no longer in service.

Furthermore, the “life span” of LED lighting is not measured traditionally to the point of failure but to the point where the light emitted reaches 70% of the original lumens. So in respect, the life of LEDS could and should exceed the estimate 50,000hrs by a considerable amount. Typical fluorescent lamps convert about 22% of the power input to visible white light, on the other hand LED lighting converts 50% or more of the power input into visible white light.

For decades the landmark sign at Gillette’s world shaving headquarters (the top of proctor and gamble’s south Boston manufacturing plant) has been running every night using 5000ft of neon tubing. Early 2010 Proctor and Gamble decided to convert the 16ft x 400ft sign to use LED modules. This would drastically improve the efficiency of the sign, cutting the annual running cost for $32,000 to only $5,000. This together with a grant of $56,000 from a Massachusetts gas & electricity utility ensures Proctor and Gamble a full payback in less than 3 years.

If every standard shop front light box in the US and UK was converted to use led modules it would have a huge positive impact on the environment. A Light box sign fitted with fluorescent tubes would have to be changed 6 times to match the life of LED modules, and would use 5 times more power. It really is only a matter of time before we all convert to LED.

Hey everyone, I wanted to tell you guys a bit more about the Smart Night Light and how nice it is to have around my apartment. I’ve had them for some time now and I have been very happy with how they’ve been working. They stay lit all night long and they provide a lot of light on the outside of our apartment.

On their website and on the commercial that I saw they say that these are very versatile and great to have around. I believe that it 100% true. However there are some things that I didn’t agree with. They showed that they can be used in places like attics, as indoor night lights and for a light to use while working on the car. I have done lots of car work and I know my way around an engine. However I know from experience that when I’m under a hood working I want a lot of light flooded everywhere so I can see what I’m doing.

The fact that they show that this works while working under a car hood, in my opinion not true. It does work well for outside flood lighting. It’s not as bright as day but it helps a lot to be able to see what’s going on. I don’t think that it beats using a normal flood light for the working on cars.

Also I don’t think it would be a great idea to use in the attic unless it were by an attic window to get charged. I think it would be easier to use a flashlight rather than charge up the Smart Night Light and then go into the attic with it. It does provide enough light to be a good night light though and would work well as a makeshift flash light.

After my apartment got broken into I suggested to my parents that they get more exterior lighting around the house. I told them to take a look at the Smart Night Lights and see if they would work for them. After they looked at the website and as well other Smart Night Light customer reviews they decided there wasn’t anything easier and better to use for outside lighting.

The three LED lights that are used are very bright and use almost no energy. That is why the Smart Night Lights can stay light all night long because of the low power usage. As well even on a cloudy day they get fully charged because of the UV rays that come through the clouds.

My parents got 4 lights and since it’s a buy one get one free offer they actually got 8. They had plenty of lighting in front porch area as well their walkway. They placed two lights on every corner of the house just like we did.

My dad mentioned to me that it was really easy to install on their brick walls and that they light up the back yard enough to see what’s going on. He likes the fact that he doesn’t have to run lights all night long just to light up their yard.

These are a great product and I highly recommend them for apartments or houses. They light up really well and as well they go all night long.

cut and emergency lighting function. We could design the lighting color according to different requirements, having the advantages of wide applicability, easy to install and to exchange etc.

LED rechargeable bulb is comprised of bulb; outer skin, which is hollow. And one end of this outer skin can connect the bulb; rechargeable battery; a lamp-chimney.

As the increase of earthquake in the world, LED chargeable bulb is becoming more and more necessary. It could be used as a normal LED bulb, also be used as LED emergency light and LED flashlight in the dark night or the condition of power failures. Especially in some underdeveloped countries. Now, this kind of light is widely used by Japan and South Africa as for earthquake and power failures.

Once charging, can be last for about 3-5 hours, the base type always use E27 and E26. The color has cool white and warm white, LED chargeable bulb with remote control and no have a controller, all this can be manufacture according to client requirement. It still has some special functions:

1.	High application, whatever interior or exteriors, it has a strong application and reliability.
2.	FM/AM radio, help you spend a comfortable time during the dark night or a hard time.
3.	Rechargeable.
4.	High luminance. Accepting super high light LED light, the light is obvious even in the Sun.

Choosing an LED Light Bulb with the correct beam angle is very easy and will make all the difference when it comes to furnishing your home.

A beam angle is a measurement, in degrees, that refers to the width at which light emanates from a bulb. Most light bulbs rely on a series of reflective mirrors that are designed to control the direction and spread of light. Because of the many types and styles of bulb available, these angles can vary considerably, but you will find that most retailers prefer, for the sake of simplicity, divide their products into two main categories; “spots” and “floods.”

Spots refer to light bulbs that have narrow angles. They create a circle of light, also known as a hotspot, with a small diameter, which remains very bright over long distances. Spots should generally be used where light distribution needs to be restricted or when precision placement is required. A common use for spots is as feature-lighting where attention is focused on a particular object, such as an ornament or picture, or as powerful task-lighting.

GU10 LED and MR16 LED are both examples of spots. They rely on small reflective mirrors to concentrate their light source into a narrow 45° angle.

Light bulbs with wide beam angles are called floods. Unlike spots, floods are designed to ‘flood’ an area with an even distribution of light. This makes them more suitable for general illumination and can help soften the appearance of shadows. They are most commonly used in rooms with low ceilings to which spots are ill-suited. Their wide angle also means they can be spaced further apart, thereby reducing the number of bulbs required to light a room.

SMD LED, LED Flood Lights, LED Panel Lights and LED Strip Lights all have a wide beam angle ranging from between 120° and 180° degrees.

The type of bulb you choose depends on a number of factors including the height of your ceilings, the intended purpose of the room and the types of furnishings. For example, narrow beam angles, between 30° and 45°, should be used in rooms with tall ceilings, while wide beam angles, 60° to 120°, should be used in rooms with low ceilings.

The beam angle should always be clearly stated in the product specifications. If you can’t find it contact the retailer.

12v led light bars source is a new generation of outstanding representative, it is highly effective, the energy conservation, the environmental protection, the longevity, because of this, with its for the light source of LED lamps made more and more consumer welcome. LED panel lamp is one of them.
LED panel lamp is a high-grade indoor lighting lamps and lanterns, its unique design, and shine the gender is good, no dazzle light, intensity of illumination even, the light is downy, therefore in the markets have enjoyed high share.
The market is based on consumers as the guidance, a product of the consumer welcome, the development of natural potential is bigger also, for LED panel lights is also true. At present there are more and more lighting manufacturers into LED panel lights field, then LED panel light industry how to get more development? And listen to appropriate beauty of electronic analysis.
First, focus on the development of new technology. As in led strip lighting outdoor to promote the efficiency of quantum, and seal structure change, and new phosphors/quantum dots, transparent substrate, contact materials, reflective materials, secondary optical/reflector lamps of design, high performance driving the development of the power source, etc.
Second, deal with material shortages. High brightness LED chips metal indium is based on. The earth’s crust in the content in rows in the 61th, strategic metals in the number two, the development and application of growing, not rich reserves of global growth, the price, the expected future will appear periodic shortages.
If LED panel lights into the common illumination market, bring problem is abundant raw materials? At present, many foreign countries and institutions and enterprises have begun to explore new chip in material, our country should also pay attention to this problem, to deal with the possibility of future rising prices of raw materials, research and development of new LED material.
Third, the balance capacity growth and market demand. According to not complete count, with 2010 listed companies LED the investment in field is more than 30 billion. 2010 for LED panel lights and other industry investment, about 37% to the upstream chip field, 52% to downstream application field.
2011 1 to July, China MOCVD equipment added more than 200 sets, expected in 2012, China LED chip production capacity will to the 2010 10 times. At present China MOCVD equipment more than 500 sets, calculate under construction in the 96 projects, the total Numbers of more than 1600 sets.

Fourth, from unfettered competition. For LED panel lights enterprise that competition is undoubtedly go against industry development, more and more enterprises entering into the industry will make LED panel natural light industry will face more competitive. For small businesses for, the face greater pressure. This needs LED panel lights enterprise together, in cooperation and development, avoid the consequences of that competition. Only in this way, the future development of the enterprise flexible led strip to more potential, and can also go more long-term.
